Euthynnus alletteratus

Surface-feeding pelagic targeted by light-tackle and fly anglers from NC south through FL Atlantic and into Gulf. Strong fall fishery off NC/SC; year-round bite throughout SE Atlantic and Gulf. Often called 'false albacore' (albies) or 'bonito' incorrectly in Gulf.
