Pagrus pagrus

Deep-reef snapper-grouper complex fish (66-500+ ft) commonly caught while bottom fishing for grouper from NC south through FL Atlantic and Gulf. SAFMC/GMFMC managed; heavily regulated. Also found in Bahamas reefs.
